My process is adventurous. I primarily work from life, allowing me to connect with my subject visually and intuitively. Real life experiences are important to me. They make me feel alive, yet grounded. I often return to the places I paint, which allows me to develop a deep relationship with them over time. I live to experience the change of the seasons, the varying time of day, and the soundtrack of the world, often in a place I keep returning to. Sometimes that means getting lost in the shapes that form a specific individual and sometimes it means taking a walk until I’m compelled to stop and draw.
In my current work, I strive to make representational images that challenge both my emotional intuition and the left side of my brain.
